The Best Beauty Gifts for Christmas

At this time of year all of our favourite brands are always desperate to share with us their special holiday collections. Their selection of top products that will wow on Christmas Day and often offer better value then simply buying one products alone. There are endless gift sets on offer, from make up to skincare, fragrance to body care, whoever the beauty lover in your life is they are bound to adore whichever set you pick. However, with this much variety and so many offers available it can be a little overwhelming to pick the best option. And of course there is always the question of whether or not they will actually use the additional products included in the set. DO they really want the matching shower gel and body cream of their favoruite fragrance?

Whilst all of the different sets on offer are beautiful and can be the perfect way to treat someone to a little extra come Christmas there are also plenty of products that make beautiful gifts in their own right. After all, when it comes to luxury beauty in particular brands go the extra mile to ensure that the whole expereince is wonderful, regarldess of the time of year. So if you’d rather steer clear of the larger gift sets or simply just want to treat someone to some beautiful products then I have rounded up some of my favoruite luxury beauty items that make wonderful gifts in thier own right.

Make Up

If you have a make up fanatic in your life then the chances are that they will be pleased with anything that you pick for them. There are endless palettes on offer such as the Charlotte Tilbury or Hourglass which give the ability to create the majority of a makeup look from one palette. Of course there are also beautiful eye palettes and really there is only one place to head to, Urban Decay. Their Heat palette is as popular as it is for a reason and with the recent launch of Cherry you are sorted whether they prefer warm earthy tones or cooler pink tones.

There are certain classic make up items that you can’t go wrong with. Think a Chanel lipstick, Guerlain face poweder or Lancome Mascara. If you aren’t entirely sure what to go for then sticking with a best-selling classic like the Lancome Hypnose Mascara is a fail-safe.

Skincare

Skincare gift sets are always the trickiest as you never know whether the other products in the set will be sutible for whoever you are buying for. I find that it’s with skincare that it’s best to stick to the classics. Elemis always have a beautiful selection and their Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm is a classic pick. Fresh is a brand made for gifting, they take so much care with every purchase and the products are both beautiful and effective. Their Rose Hydrating Mask is perfect for parched Winter Skin. If you have someone who is new to skincare or maybe has quite sensitive skin then the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is a brilliant gift, their standard kit also comes with two muslin cloths in case you don’t already have some.

Fragrance

Picking a fragrance for someone is always a little tricky unless you know it is their favoruite. If you’re sure then sometimes the gift sets do work out at much better value so it is worth taking a look first. If not then there are plenty of wonderful fragrance brands that are very giftable. Whether you’re looking for perfume or candles both Jo Malone and Diptique have you covered. Both also offer smaller versions of their top fragrances that come in at a slightly more affordable price point.

Bath & Body

Very few people are going to be dissapointed to receive bath and body products. They’re the items that we’re less likley to indulge in for ourselves and are much easier to get right. Philosophy always do their festive shower gels & bubble baths which are a lovely treat and last for ages. L’Occitane’s Lavender Bath Soak is the stuff that dreams are made of and is perfect to help unwind after the madness of Christmas. Body Oil is also a wonderful present, particularly in the winter when skin gets so much drier. Crabtree & Evelyn, ESPA and Le Labo all do beautiful options for luxurious body products.

If you still need to buy for the beauty-obsessive in your life then it’s worth looking at all the normal products that are available throughout the year. They are often just as gorgeous as the sets on offer but instead of spending money on the things that they are less likely to use you know you have spent the money on the things that people love.
