The Non-Traditional Christmas Jumper Edit

Over the past few years the Christmas jumper trend has exploded. Everyone now has at least 1 Christmas jumper sitting at the back of their wardrobe just waiting for the 1st December to roll around. Wherever you look there are jumpers with everything on, from trees to snowflakes, Santa to Rudolph. There are so many on offer than finding one that you actually like, and will actually get the wear out of, can be a little challenging.

Festive jumpers are a great way to get into the Christmas spirit but if I’m being honest, I’ve never really been the biggest fan. I’ve never felt particularly comfortable in the more novelty jumpers and whilst I have tried to find a few more classic Christmas jumper designs over the years I’ve found these are few and far between and often don’t really reflect my style anyway. I really don’t like the idea of buying something that will just sit at the back of my wardrobe collecting dust all year round. I would much rather invest in something that is still festive but is a little more wearable throughout the winter and is ultimately something I will actually get the wear out of.

So with this in mind I’ve rouned up some of my favoruite less traditional Christmas jumpers to share with you this season if you’re still looking for that perfect jumper to wear all winter long. There are no characters, corny jokes or gimmicks in site, just beautiful knitwear that you can wear long after the Christmas season is over, but that also works as your go-to stylish Christmas jumper this season. So, if like me, you don’t particularly want to invest in a novelty jumper that will just sit at the back of your wardrobe collecting dust all year round then here are my top picks.

The Glitter and sparkle options

Is it really Christmas without a little glitter and sparkle? These jumpers edge on the side of “grown-up glitter” though and are the slightly more statement options for your wardrobe.

The Chunky knits

Chunky knits are always my favourite, perfect for a casual Christmas Day with jeans or leather trousers but also great for staying warm during the chilly January mornings. The first is the one I am wearing in this post.

The classics with a twist

These are the ones that are well within my style comfort zone (and probably yours too!) but have been a little updated to give them that festive twist. Think gold piping, subtle embellishments and statement sleeves.
