It's always fun to change up my makeup bag between seasons, trying out some new things and re-introducing some old favourites. Lighter bases, golden hues and long-lasting formulas are always favourites for all at this time of the year and this is no exception. The Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick has been my go-to highlighter all summer long. The golden tones are beautifully flattering, allowing you to customise the intensity of your highlighter perfectly. With no glitter, just a gorgeous glow, it's affordable, lasts and is a true stand out product when it comes to affordable highlighters.

Eyes

With it's unique brush, long-lasting formula and intense volume the L'Oréal Paris False Lash Sculpt Mascara is a truly brilliant product. It gives all of the intense volume I could wish for, coating each individual lash and staying put even on the warmest days despite not being a waterproof formula.

Every summer I pull out the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow in Golden Nude. It's the perfect summer shadow with a an almost wet-look finish to the eyes. A tiny wash brightens the eyes or it can be layered for an intense golden look. If you want to see it being used then click here, it's one that I always go back to and just cannot get enough of. On the days when winged liner feels a bit too much theNYX Slide On Glide On EyeKohlhas seen be through. Much softer and subtler than liquid liner, it gives that hint of definition and thickens the base of the lashes perfectly. The soft formula applies like a dream and gives you a little play time to smudge it out before setting down and not budging all day long. With a little on the lower lash line too it opens up the eyes and creates definition quickly and easily.

Lips

Summer lip goes one of two ways: bold and bright or sheer and low-maintenance. The bold and bright option has had to be the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Lipstick in 229 . It's the most incredible orange-red shade, instantly brightening any make up look and making it perfect for the summer. The formula is matte but still comfortable to wear without drying out the lips or looking flat. It brighten and adds the perfect dose of colour to any look.

When a low-maintenance barley there lip is required the Catrice Lip Beautyfiersare a go to. They have enough pigmentation to perfect the lips and leave them looking plumped and hydrated with a beautiful glossy finish but you can apply them quickly without any need for a mirror and you don't need to worry about them smudging or melting as the days get warmer.

Finally for lips is something in between the two before - the NYX Lip Lingerie in Satin Ribbon. This is a low-maintenance nude in that once it's on it stays put throughout countless glasses of Pimms and BBQ's but the nude tone means it will go with any look and you don't need to worry about topping it up throughout the day.
