The Summer Fragrance Edit

hermes jardin sur nil

When it comes to fragrance I'm not that loyal. There are of course a few classics, such as Chloe, that I always go back to but experimenting with new scents is something I have always found exciting. I never fell fully dressed without a spritz of perfume, it can instantly evoke memories and change your mood in a second. Falling in love with new scents is even more exciting and the changing seasons give the perfect opportunity. During the summer I want something lighter, something a little fruitier and more feminine but without being overpoweringly sweet or young. The scent needs to make me feel happy and remind me of warm summer days, something to brighten my mood when even the weather is looking a little duller. This season there are 3 summer fragrances that I am particularly enjoying. Hermes Jardin de Nilis a beautiful light and crisp scent. It is floral and fresh whilst having distinct 'green' scents to it. There is a slight spice that you can notice cutting through the scent which keeps it from being overtly feminine, too floral or sickly and maintains it as a fresh, light scent perfect for day time wear.

Jo Malone Honey and Nectarine Blossom is ideal if you're looking for something sweeter but still want sophistication. The unmistakable scent of nectarine blossom hits you instantly and lifts this fragrance making it both fruity and feminine whilst the more subtle notes prevent it from being sickly. It' a sweet and fun scent with a sophisticated edge, perfect for anyone who likes sweet scent but nothing too sweet.

For something a little more unusual the Maison Margela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning is a dream. It's undeniably fresh and feminine but with a woody, almost sexy, twist to it. The notes of rose and white muk combine to give a soft edge to the scents. It's crisp and clean, just like fresh sheets on a Sunday morning, and adds a delicate touch to any style.
