If there’s any time of year that leaves you feeling desperate to refresh your wardrobe it’s winter. But if you are going to invest this season, here are the PIECES you can’t go wrong with, THAT YOU’LL STILL WANT TO WEAR NEXT WINTER.
Of all the seasons, arguably winter is the hardest one to look stylish in. No matter what you plan, the cold weather means the layers and big coats are never that far away. It’s easy to end up looking exactly the same every single time you leave the house or sit down at your desk because even if you’re staying home it’s easy to fall into the “jeans and jumper” trap every day.
The urge to refresh everything you own becomes strong, especially when there are few other things to distract us. But if you’re trying to live a more sustainable and conscious lifestyle then simply refreshing your wardrobe every time things get little boring is not the way forward. Instead thinking carefully about what you add in is far better, thinking about what those staple styles are that you’ll rewear every year means you can have a more mindful refresh.
Before you start, take some time to ask you why you’re really bored with your wardrobe. Is it that everything's the same style and fit? Is it that everything's the same time? Maybe you only have 1 or two pieces of outerwear that you constantly rotate and that feel a bit tired? Whatever it is there’s a solution in looking at the staple styles for winter. If you know an oversized fit works better for you then you don’t suddenly need to start wearing the tightest clothes you can find, just as neutral lovers don’t suddenly need to be buying everything in all the shades of neon. It’s about identifying the items where your personal style and gaps in your wardrobe overlap.
