Vichy Double Glow Peel Face Mask

Vichy is a skincare brand that I trust fully. Their gentle formulas work wonders on my skin and consistently deliver on results. When a favourite skincare brand combines their reliable formulas with a few acids I can't resist giving it a go. Any masks that promise to 'peel' or add glow to the skin are ones that have my interest immediately. The Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask Combining AHA's and volcanic rock powder this mask works to illuminate skin through a double-peel action that reveals smoother, refined and radiant skin. As my skin starts to get drier and areas aren't as smooth as they were a few months ago, anything that promises to refine the skin and add radiance is something I'm eager to try. The First Impressions

The formula is a gel consistency making it easy to apply and comfortable to apply to the skin. It feels refreshing on the skin and the scent is pleasant. Initially the little micro-particles (don't worry, there are no micro-beads to be found here) are so fine that it's hard to even detect them on the skin. Applying in gentle circular motions gives an even coverage and extremely gentle exfoliation. Once applied to the whole face I waited 10 minutes for it to get to work. There is a very slight tingle as the AHA's get to work. If you've used the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask or you are familiar with other acid products then this won't phase you in the slightest, if they're new to you or you have particularly sensitive skin then it's worth being away that this can feel a little strange initially. A tingle is ok, burning is bad so if it's too much for your skin wash it off immediantly.

The gel texture means this doesn't full dry onto the skin, it isn't like a clay based mask that will crack but it does dry down slightly more than something like a regular hydrating mask would. A little warm water and a flannel removes the mask quickly and the particles help to lift away any further dead skin cells that are still hanging around. The removal is easy and doesn't feel abrasive on the skin, again everything is left feeling very fresh.

Immediately my skin felt softer and had that added glow. It provided me with a perfect base to apply the rest of my skincare over the top and left everything feeling smoother and refreshed but not at all stripped or over-worked.

Long Term

After using for a couple of weeks my skin was certainly looking brighter. The overall texture is smoother and looks brighter. Of course there are other skincare products that I have been combining this with to give my skin an added glow but this is one that has really stood out. The tingleing feeling that you first feel when you apply this seemed to disappear after the second time I used this. Personally I think that's a bit of a shame as I like to feel as though a product is really getting to work, however once removed my skin still felt soft, smooth and looks more glowing.

It's a comfortable mask to wear and one that is easy to slot into your current routine a couple of times a week as you only need to wear it for 10 minutes a time. I've enjoyed popping this on and lying back in the bath for 15-20 minutes to feel the full effects of this mask. If you don't like traditional physically exfoliating masks or scrubs then this is a good substitute this is a great alternative as it is not has harsh on the skin but still provides the polishing action to leave your skin smoother. The AHA's are also a nice way to start getting into acids and introducing them into your skincare routine.

It's affordable and delivers on results, the perfect way to revive your winter skin and leave it looking that bit more radiant and ready for the upcoming party season.
