There’s no better feeling than discovering beauty products that actually work. The next step? Making sure you have plenty of back ups stashed away just in case
Is there any better feeling than discovering a new beauty product (or 5) that you instantly fall for and suddenly can’t be without? That feeling of excitement when you order something, try it the second it lands on your doorstep and then can’t stop talking about it, insisting everyone must try it. While the rate at which I try new beauty products has slowed down over the past few years I still get that rush of excitement every time I fall for something new.
The past few months have been all about reassessing my skincare and getting it to work harder for me again. I want my dry (and newly sensitive) skin to feel comfortable, hydrated and radiant. Avoiding breakouts as much as possible and helping any marks left behind by spots to heal quickly. Is that too much to ask for? This edit of new skincare favourites have achieved just that, and it’s very possible that not only do they all sit pride of place on my bathroom shelf but I also have back ups for them all sitting and waiting patiently too.
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel*
The most beautyfil and luxurious cleanser I’ve tried. It removes any residual makeup, gently cleanses the skin and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated. The scent is beautiful but doesn’t aggravate my sensitive skin. When I fancy being slightly more indulgent, or I just don’t have time to do a full masking routine, I leave it on for a little longer to work it’s magic.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid*
This affordable daily exfoliator has been a total game-changer for my skin, helping to get rid of the dry and dull skin. I’ve been applying a few drops to my skin most evenings after cleansing for the past few months and can confidently say my skin is looking clearer and more even than it has in a long time.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid*
To keep everything looking plum and hydrated post-exfoliation, I’ve been religiously lathering on this hyaluronic acid every evening and morning. It sinks in quickly, leaves my skin looking hydrated and doesn’t cost the earth.
Lumene Intense Hydration 24H Moisturiser*
A new brand discovery for me, I’ve been nothing but impressed by Lumene so far. This moisturiser in particular has been the perfect final layer in the evening to lock in moisture and leave my skin feeling smooth and hydrated all night long. I have also used this underneath make up and it provides a great base, hydrating but not interfering with any other makeup products applied over the top.
Bondi Sands Face SPF 50*
The one thing that I use every single day without fail, whatever the weather, wherever I’m going, no matter how tired or lazy I’m feeling. A good SPF 50 for the face can be ard to find, especially for a good price, but this one is the dream. It’s light weight so doesn’t feel too claustrophbic on the skin, it leaves my skin looking hydrated and glowing and doesn’t leave a white cast on darker skin tones. The matching body lotions are also just as brilliant and no body oil or tint has ever made my skin look as good as these do.
